If the accident involves an elderly person
Older people are often victims of domestic accidents; in particular, the difficulty of walking that often characterizes them makes them subject to falls.
In these conditions, even modest irregularities of the floor, a little visible step, any unexpected obstacle (a carpet, an abandoned toy) can cause falls which, among other things, in the case of an elderly person, are always problematic: often in fact, these subjects are unable to get up and, if they are alone, they do not have the possibility to ask for help, with serious consequences both for delayed rescues and for the long stay on the ground. It is not at all uncommon, for example, for a person forced to stand still for a few hours to develop generalized muscle pain (known as rhabdomyolysis from circulatory distress), which can sometimes result in extremely serious clinical consequences, even to death.
